Michael Rose
Chairman & CEO
Metropolitan Capital Bank
Mr. Rose is the Founder, Chairman & CEO of Metropolitan Capital (MetCap). MetCap is what would be referred to in Europe as a "Universal Bank" - private banking, commercial banking and investment banking, delivered in an integrated manner through a single platform (e.g., Goldman Sachs, UBS, Barclays, etc.). Although in Europe, Universal Banks exist large and small, in North America, they are only very large. MetCap is one of the very few, if not the only, boutique Universal Banks in North America, and is focused upon small to medium size businesses and the founders and families that own or operate them. MetCap is headquartered in Chicago, with a presence in San Francisco, New York and Los Angeles.
Prior to founding Metropolitan Capital, Mr. Rose was a Principal in, and helped to found, the Lexecon Strategy Group, a strategic consulting firm where Mr. Rose led the firm's financial services practice. Prior to Lexecon, Mr. Rose was the Acting Executive Director (CEO) of the Illinois Housing Development Authority, having previously served as Staff Attorney, Legislative Liaison, General Counsel, Chief Development Officer and Deputy Executive Director. Mr. Rose received a B.S. in Economics with Highest Distinction from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and is admitted to practice law in Illinois. He holds Series 7 - General Securities Representative, Series 79 - Investment Banking, Series 24 - General Securities Principal, Series 82 - Private Securities Offerings, and Series 63 - Uniform State Broker Dealer Agent licenses with Metropolitan Capital Investment Banc.
