Inducted to the National Academy of Inventors, Dr. Ngumbi received three U.S. patents for her research in basic and applied aspects of using microbial inoculants to promote growth and enhance tolerance to drought stress in crops. Beyond peer-reviewed research, she has published over a hundred op-ed and feature articles for science publications and mainstream media outlets on topics related to agricultural sustainability, global food security, immigrant rights, and African and African American culture and representation in science and popular media.
