By any metric, the aviation industry is soaring to new heights and enabling more people to take to the air than ever before. As the global leader in aerospace, The Boeing Company must compete in a market that is unprecedentedly bursting with both opportunity and disruptive innovation.

To be successful, it is imperative that Boeing identify technologies and business practices that optimally meet the demands of the time. Simply put, if Boeing doesn't innovate, then someone else will.

This "someone else" could be anyone – an eccentric billionaire with the capital to build rockets, startups with bold ideas, or age-old competitors with the scale to position themselves for faster growth.
