By establishing the student-run Gies LGBTQ Affinity group, we hope members of this community feel embraced, valued, and authentic in their being as students and by students within the Gies College of Business. We aim to promote inclusive thought and action within Gies by both promoting and hosting campus educational events while endorsing relevant student activist movements.
We act as an indirect resource by acknowledging the existence of LGBTQ student identities within the Gies College of Business, while offering a welcoming, empowering community. We act as a direct resource by connecting LGBTQ students to resources in and out of Gies. Members will be provided with professional opportunities aligned with DEI initiatives while they further explore their interest in business and expand their network.
