If you are a military connected student and would like to connect with the military student community, consider takeing AHS 199 Career Development for Military Students. The objective of this course is to introduce military-connected students to the subject of career development and to provide strategies that enable them to land a career and succeed in the workplace. This course provides an overview of the civilian and federal job search process, resources for creating effective resumes and cover letters, interview preparation, job negotiations, professional networking and knowledge of various industries and organizations. Additionally, employee rights and benefits to include retirement programs will be discussed in detail, as well as tips for business-related functions, workplace challenges and situations, making sense of your paycheck, increasing your salary, and the importance of finding a mentor(s) early in your academic career.
