Access and Multicultural Engagement in Gies Undergraduate Affairs invites you to join us as we learn more about and celebrate our Hispanic students, their families, and their culture with a variety of events all month long. The events calendar will be updated throughout the month.
Much can be learned about a nation by the events that appear on its calendar. Every year, Hispanic Heritage Month is observed here in the United States. With its beginnings as a week-long celebration in 1968, the U.S. Government set aside an entire month from September 15 to October 15 as National Hispanic Heritage Month in 1988 to honor the many contributions Hispanic Americans have made and continue to make to the United States of America. The history, culture, and traditions of people from Spain, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean are celebrated.
