Greetings,
Just a quick reminder if you want to be considered for a Gies Scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year, we do not require an application and in place are asking students to complete the following:
- (Optional Step) Complete and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) found here: https://giesgroups.illinois.edu/click?linkid=283cfac6-4522-479a-90b9-f8d364fb5f1a
- (Required to be considered) Upload a resume in Handshake that is visible to employers, students, and alumni across all Handshake universities (aka “Community” Privacy Setting); Deadline: Friday, March 4th
Students receiving an award will be notified by the end of July. There will be no notification to students not receiving a scholarship.
We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has adversely impacted many of our students and their families. If this is true for you and your family, unfortunately, may not accurately reflect in your FAFSA or current Financial Aid award letter. However, the Financial Aid Office can assist you with how to complete the appropriate paperwork to appeal your financial aid decision to have your university aid re-evaluated, which may include completing a "Special Circumstances" form. In addition, their office is open for questions from 10am-5pm CST and you can reach them at finaid@illinois.edu or at 217-333-0100.
If you have questions, please contact scholarships@business.illinois.edu for further assistance.
Thank you,
Kerri Green
