Korean Summer & Fall 2022 Course & Placement/Proficiency

 Proficiency/Placement 
The Department of East Asian Languages & Cultures is offering the summer online Korean 201 and Fall 2022 Korean plancement/proficienty test as follows.  Schedule an appointment or visit Express Advising to speak with an advisor about your Gies Language Other Than English requirement if you have questions.

SU22 KOR 201 (8-week online course) offered in summer term II

  • 5 credit hours
  • Asynchronous course with two synchronous meetings per week
  • No status restrictions! (seniors and graduate students are welcome)

If you are a student going to study abroad in FA22, this will be a great opportunity to learn about the Korean culture and the basics of how to speak, read and write in Korean.

Sign up for the test if you....

  1. Plan to take a Korean language class in FA22 for LOTE requirement and you have a prior knowledge of Korean OR....
  2. Intend to have your LOTE requirement waived by demonstrating your proficiency level equal to that required by the college

The FA22 Korean proficiency/placement test will be administered on campus and will not be administered online. Students must register with their illinois.edu email account.
