On Monday, February 25, the Counseling Center will host our 2019 National Alcohol Screening Day (NASD). The event will take place in Illini Union Room B from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Each year, we host this event to educate students on the dangers of risky alcohol use and decrease harm related to Unofficial St. Patrick’s Day. Students may drop in to complete a brief confidential screening to explore their alcohol use and discuss any potential changes they’d like to make. They are also able to participate in a variety of interactive activities to increase their knowledge around alcohol and other drug use. With the campaign, “#AskMeAboutMyPlan,” we encourage students to share the ways that they plan to either abstain from participation in risky use or decrease potential harm to themselves or their peers. The first 100 students to complete a screening will receive a free T-shirt!
