will need to take an ALEKS Math Placement Exam sometime between now and the first week of spring classes.  Math 112-College Algebra and Math 234-Business Calculus is the common math course sequence for Gies Business students.

Students can register for classes even before taking the placement exam.  An ALEKS of 40% is required for Math 112.  An ALEKS of 65% is required for Math 234 Business Calc.

All students taking these classes Spring 2020 must have a NEW math placement exam for spring term.  Past ALEKS scores, past course credit, and retakes will not work.

After the regular February 3, 2020 add deadline for Spring 2020, Math will not have any drop-down opportunities.

More information about the ALEKS exam can be found on the Math Department's website.  Please email mathadvising@illinois.edu for questions about math course access and content.  Please meet with your Gies advisor to discuss your course planning options.
