Spring Semester Planning Starts Monday!
Hello First Time Freshman!
I hope your semester has been off to a great start! Hopefully you have found a rhythm and are settling into your first semester here in Gies. It's funny to think it's already time to start planning for your spring semester, but we want to make sure you're fully prepared and looking towards your future!
As a part of that process you will participate in a program called Spring Semester Planning. This is a mandatory program for all first year freshman students to be ready for the spring registration process. You will need to complete this program, or a hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to register for the spring semester until you complete it.
How to complete it...
- Starting on Monday, September 29th we will release the Spring Semester Planning videos on the Fall 2025 Gies Academic Advising Resources canvas page.
- If you haven't already accepted your membership to this page do so NOW!
- Click on "Modules" and go to "Spring Semester Planning"
- Watch the 4 short videos that will walk you through the spring course planning process.
- After you have completed the videos, you will follow the directions to register for an in-person section. You must complete the videos before you attend an in-person section.
- The in-person sections will be between Oct. 13th and Oct. 16th, 5pm and 6pm in the BIF. You can choose whatever section you want, and you can sign up in the same sections as your friends!
- Note: James Scholar Students in BUS 115 do NOT need to sign up for an in-person section. You will get the information in BUS 115.
- Once you have attended the in-person section you have completed the program. Failure to complete any step of this program will result in a hold on your account until you have completed it fully.
If you have any questions about the program you can email us at undergrads@business.illinois.edu.
Transfer students will complete a different program called Major Course Planning and do not need to participate in this program.
Happy Homecoming Week!
