This is the last week of Women's Hisotry Month.  The Women's Resource Center is hosting events through out the week to continue the celebrations:

Feminist Accountability with Dr. Ann Russo
Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM at the Illini Union Bookstore, Author’s Corner (2nd Floor)

Join us for a conversation with Dr. Ann Russo as she discusses her new book, Feminist Accountability. Dr. Russo will be reading from her book, answering questions, and signing copies, which will be available for purchase. This event will be held at the Author's Corner on the second floor of the Illini Union Bookstore. Snacks included.

About Dr. Russo: Ann Russo is an Associate Professor in Women’s and Gender Studies at DePaul University who focuses on queer, antiracist, and feminist movement building to end violence and to build socially just and caring communities. Her scholarly and activist work engages transformative justice theories and practices that cultivate communal healing, intervention, accountability, and transformation in response to systemic interpersonal, community, and state violence. Women Who Rise: A Panel of Illinois Change Makers
Thursday, March 28, 2019 at 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM at Illini Union, Room 405.
Illinois is home to many incredible women, and several of them are working towards gender equity right here on campus. Join the WRC as we converse with Dr. Isabel Molina-Guzman, Dr. Mary Arends-Kuenning, Dr. Christine Shenouda, and Jessica Robinson about their careers and the work they are doing to elevate the voices of women. Discover new strategies for disrupting sexism while learning more about the incredibly work of women right here on campus! Snacks provided!

WHM Film Series: The Joy Luck Club

Friday, March 29, 2019 at 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM

Join the WRC and the AACC for a movie night and discussion! We will be watching the 1993 movie, The Joy Luck Club. Free food and conversation provided!
About the film: The Joy Luck Club is an American drama film about the relationships between Chinese-American women and their Chinese immigrant mothers, and it is based on the acclaimed novel by Amy Tan. Before Crazy Rich Asians, it was one of the only films produced by a major Hollywood studio to feature a predominantly Asian-American cast.
