Are you an international student who wants to be more competitive in today’s global job market? Do you want to develop the key skills needed for career success? If so, we strongly encourage you to enter the 3rd annual 2019 INTERNATIONAL CAREER FESTIVAL elevator pitch competition. Registration is open for self-selected teams of two, and international students from all degree levels and majors are welcome to apply. Registration deadline has been extended to Sunday, October 6 by 11:59 pm.
For more information and instructions on how to submit your team’s application materials, visit Handshake for the competition guidelines
*5 reasons why you and a teammate should consider signing up for the competition:
1. You gain hands-on experience and exposure to industry executives as you get to work on a team to present your elevator pitch to a panel of judges (comprised of industry executives).
2. Develop key skills in demand that employers look for such as teamwork, communication skills, presentation skills, leadership skills and creativity.
3. Win fabulous prizes! The top 3 teams will receive prizes and all teams will receive a certificate of participation.
4. It's a great, unique experience that will help build your profile and you can share with others. Not many students can say they participated in a pitch competition!
5. Two MSA teams were selected to compete in the finals last year and one team won 3rd place overall! The 1st place winning team was also from Gies (MSTM)! Keep up this Gies winning tradition and show the rest of campus that the best students are Gies students!
NOTE: The elevator pitch competition will take place at the 2019 International Career Festival – a campus-wide, half-day event dedicated solely to international students – on Saturday, October 19th from 1:00pm-4:30pm. Even if you decide to not be a part of the competition, we encourage all international students to attend and watch!
