Message from Associate Dean, Dr. Kevin Jackson

While the weather reminds us that winter is on its way, I’m still feeling the aftermath of Thanksgiving; even now, I bear the discomfort of a stretched belly. There is an undoubted connection between Thanksgiving and a full tummy, but today I’m reminded that the connection is more than the manifestation of eating too much turkey and dressing. That contentment from eating well brings me to a place of gratitude for having the means to eat regularly, without a fear of hunger. Admittedly, I’m too often distracted from that place of gratitude. I find myself focused on all the things that could be better in our College, on our campus, and in our country. But by any objective measure, I have much to be thankful for; my bet is that we all do. May we all find joy in that which is good for us, and may that joy give us grateful hearts to be shared with others. Be well!
