Message from Associate Dean, Dr. Kevin Jackson

Welcome back to campus! As we begin a new semester (and a new year), here is what’s on my mind and this is especially for the seniors.  FINISH STRONG; but not just in the classroom. When I look back at my time in college, I can recall that final semester as a time of great joy, but also of great distraction.  Like many of you, I was limping my way to completing those final classes.  If I could change one thing, it would be this: I neglected many of the friendships I spent years cultivating. Now, I’m not saying you should ignore the academic and professional responsibilities in front of you, but understand the value of relationships.  As you move on from Gies, it will be easy to become absorbed in your next challenge.  So take advantage of this great gift of friendship and build a habit of prioritizing relationships.  You’ll never regret it.
