ICA & BADM 359 Course Info Night (Sophomores and Juniors ONLY) Interested in consulting but don’t know where to start? Illinois Consulting Academy is here to help! Come join us for our Fall 2020 Information Night, hosted on October 13th from 7-8 PM via Zoom. Preferred dress is Smart Casual. **Open to Sophomores and Juniors (Class of ’23 & ’24)** BADM 359 is a class that aims to enhance students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills; one of the two most important traits when it comes to being a consultant. And just like a typical consultant’s week, no two weeks in BADM 359 will look the same! Curriculum alternates between engaging corporate sponsor presentations to industry keynotes given by prominent faculty highlighting trends in their area of expertise. In addition, students are given the opportunity to network over lunch with representatives from each of our sponsor firms— which include many of the biggest firms in the consulting world. Sample class topics can include learning how exactly to define a problem, accurately figure out how many windows are on the average New York City block, or even understanding the pitfalls of a complex global supply-chain. This class serves as a fantastic introduction to what a career in consulting entails. Through weekly skills and case preparation, the Illinois Consulting Academy Sophomore Bootcamp effectively prepares students based on their individualized goals. By the end of ICA’s Bootcamp, you will be prepared, confident, and ready to crush any firm’s consulting interview, and be able to prove yourself as a star intern. Over 10 weeks, we host workshops on CapIQ, Bloomberg, Alteryx, Excel, PowerPoint and effective communication, and give you the opportunity to tackle a real-life case and data set to ultimately present your findings and recommendations. Our curriculum is prepared based on the recommendations of top consulting firms including Bain & Company, Deloitte, PwC and more, as well as to fit students’ specific needs and goals! You will ultimately walk away with stronger critical thinking, technical skills, and a network of Illinois' top talent!
