This course is being taught in Spring 2019 by Professor Aric Rindfleisch (Executive Director of the Illinois MakerLab). The class will meet in the Illinois MakerLab (3030 BIF) on Tuesdays from 5-8pm.
The goal of this course is to teach students how to turn digital designs into physical products using the 3D printing technology available in the Illinois MakerLab, the world's first Business School 3D printing lab. The Lab is equipped with 18 Ultimaker 3D Printers.
In this course, students from business, engineering, and art & design will work together in teams to conceptualize, design, prototype, manufacture, and market a new to the world product. This will be a hands-on course; there will be few power point slides and no exams. Instead, will we focus on learning, making and sharing. Prior classes have made some incredible things.
