Recruiting Events this Week
Remember that the personal contacts you make with recruiters and professionals are critical to the success of your job search. When companies are on campus, it is very important that students attend events and show interest!
Check Handshake “Events” for additional events that may interest you!

This is an opportunity to learn about organizational success and work to develop a plan for your own change initiative. Learn about all Leadership Center iPrograms Workshops. Register for Ignite if you are interested and available – read the registration policy carefully!
Build your Professional Network – Illinois Technology Association
Are you a student member of the Illinois Technology Association (ITA)? If not, it’s high time to join! Membership is free, and helps you connect with companies, and attend unique events.
If you’re a member – make sure you you read the email messages from ITA! The November Student Event is a Student Networking Event in Chicago at Relativity on Thursday, November 14, from 5:30 – 7:30. If your class schedule is such that you can be at this event (in downtown Chicago) when it starts at 5:30, I suggest that you check this out! This is an opportunity to meet professionals working in several tech companies in Chicago, in a casual environment. This is NOT a career fair. Students who have attended in the past told me that at the beginning of the event all participating companies introduce themselves -- which means that it’s very important to be there from the start, so you know who is there and who you want to talk to. If plan to attend, make sure to RSVP (register). And if you RSVP (register), you are expected to attend!
Note: ITA Student networking events are open to students currently enrolled in an accredited program. This means that your opportunity to join these events is NOW – you will not be invited to join after you graduate in May or August!
Resource: Crain’s Chicago Business – Most Innovative Companies 2019
Heads-up! If you’re not familiar with Crain’s Chicago Business, it’s a great source of information on companies you should know about: Check our the recent list of “Most Innovative Companies 2019”.
After you review the list, are you wondering what to do next? That’s a great reason to make an appointment to talk about your job search. We’re here to help in all phases of your search, but in order to help we need to know where in the job search process you are!
