Subject: [Career Communications Corner] - Gies Business Career Fair: 3 days away!

The Gies Business Career Fair is this week!
Spend the next couple of days prepping your resume, creating a target company list, and brainstorming quesitons you can use when engaging with employers on CareerEco (or when connecting with them later on).

Quick Tips:

  • For a quick and alternative method to getting your resume reviewed - click here!
  • Want to make sure you have covered all the bases when it comes to understanding CareerEco (the platform the career fair will take place on)? Click here to make sure!

A note on creating a Target Company List:

Have you been paying attention and studying the job postings of the employers that will be present at the Career Fair? If so, use it to create your target company list - aim for 5! I recommend you follow the link above and look at the job postings of these highlighted companies (remember to also check Handshake):

- GEP      -Andersen      -Beghoue Consulting      -Caterpillar      -Claro Healthcare                     -Milwaukee Tool       -Protiviti      -RSM      -The Claro Group      -Crowe LLP                                -Sandia National Laboratories      -Abbvie      -The Kenrich Group LLC

I cannot do the work for you - so here is a piece of the process.
Remember, every job posting is a learning opportunity! Even if you don't meet the requirements for these job postings take the time to learn about their industries, competitors, and necessary qualifications.
A lot of progress stems from your understanding of the company and networking.

Here are your final reminders before attending a career fair:

Career Fair Prep: Visit Gies Groups (Virtual Career Fair) top tab for the up-to-date resources to help you prepare! The Gies Business Fair and the ACES / LAS fair will be on a career fair platform called Career Eco. If you have not already registered and set up your profile, make sure to take the steps this weekend to get all the fairs registered and on your calendar. Also, take the time to familiarize yourself with the Career Eco platform. These links are also on Gies Groups, but I am highlighting them here also:
