Career Services Notes for MSTM Students
Friday, June 14, 2019

It’s been a great week! At the end of each week, I will send a newsletter with information to keep you informed. If you check Gies Groups regularly, you have already seen information on upcoming events. This newsletter will also have timely information to help you in your job search.  It pays to read to the end!

Firstly, thanks to everyone who attended Career Services events this week:

If you attended these events, you should have received an email message with a request to provide feedback on the event. If you have not completed this survey, would you please take a few minutes to do so now? Your responses help us know what interests you, and how we can improve future programs.

Next week brings three Career Services events for MSTM students. Details for each event are on Gies Groups, in the “Events” tab. Please RSVP to each event, whether or not you plan to attend:

My last piece of information for this week concerns the “Business Graduate Programs Trek” which will take place on Friday, June 28. The “trek” is an opportunity for a small group of students to visit a company, and learn about their business operations. This Summer 2019 trek will be to Bloomington, IL, to visit Growmark. Here’s the important part: 30 students will be able to participate in this trek. On Monday, June 17, at 5:00pm, you will receive an email message with information on the trek and a link to the Gies Groups event registration. The first 30 students who sign up will be able to go on this trek. In addition to attending the trek, students who are able to register for the trek will be REQUIRED to attend the "Trek Pre-Departure Meeting". Pay careful attention to this information, and only register for the trek if you will be available to attend BOTH the pre-departure meeting, and spend the whole day on the Trek on Friday, June 28.

Please read the trek information, and be sure that you are interested in the company before you sign up! There will be additional treks in Fall and Spring semesters, and each student is allowed to participate in one trek per semester. Since participation is limited, it is extremely important that you only sign up if you are interested!

That's the information for this week.  Have a great weekend, and see you on Monday!
