Virtual Career Connections Series
Dear MSF students,
Gies Career Services launched the Virtual Career Connection Series in April where we interviewed industry professionals from William Blair, the Research Park at Illinois, and recruiters from the search firm, LaSalle. Presenters shared their career tips and valuable insights on how the current COVID-19 situation is impacting the job market and what this means for job seekers.
Thank you to those students who attended and we hope you found it beneficial. For those who missed the live sessions, we have the recordings below so feel free to watch it at your own convenience.
Leverage Staffing Agencies to Initiate Your Career During Uncertain Times presented by LaSalle Network
[live event was held April 24th. Click here to view the recording]
Why you should watch this: Here’s another “job search channel” to consider. In addition to the other channels such as job boards, professional and personal connections, company websites, learn more about search firms and how they work.
Description: According to the American Staffing Association, during the course of a year, American staffing companies hire 16 million temporary and contract employees. You might wonder: Do staffing agencies place candidates in permanent opportunities at all? How much does it cost for job seekers to use the services of a staffing agency? How do staffing agencies work with graduate-level candidates in the US? Please join us as we chat with Megan Trzcinski, the Senior Director of Corporate and Campus Recruiting and Jessica Shaeffer, the Senior Director of Marketing at LaSalle Network. Megan and Jessica will talk about how staffing agencies collaborate with employers and job seekers, offer tips for working with staffing agencies, and share their valuable insights on both how COVID-19 is impacting the job market and current staffing trends in the US.
