Gies Career Services: Final Thoughts

  • Although the Spring Gies Business Fair is over and there aren’t as many employer information sessions, that doesn’t mean Spring recruiting is over! There are many employers who choose not to attend the fair or host an information session but they are still actively recruiting so please continue to monitor the Handshake job board, other job boards, company’s website, LinkedIn company page, tap into your personal and professional connections, etc.
  • Be resourceful and leverage a mix of job search channels (on-campus recruiting and off-campus recruiting)
  • Be aware that many listings have application deadlines so it’s important that you stay on top of the deadlines and submit your application at your earliest convenience.
  • There may be many more events so we encourage you to discover events/workshops on your own by browsing Gies Groups, Handshake, engaging with student organizations, subscribing to other campus unit newsletters, etc.
  • If you have questions on how to communicate with employers or how to submit your application or any other career-related issue, we strongly encourage you to visit us at 1033 BIF (Monday-Friday 10:00am-4:00pm) or schedule an appointment with a career advisor on Gies Groups.
