Your NetID will give you access to campus services, including e-mail and file storage. New students should visit the NetID claiming website.
You will need to complete the Career Management Foundations Course prior to June 1. Please follow the instructions listed in the New Student Checklist.

To help you prepare for your arrival on campus to start the MSTM program, we are excited to launch a series of virtual events. This series will help orient you to campus life in an informative, fun, and engaging way. Each session will provide valuable insights and useful tips that will help in your orientation process, so we encourage you to participate in as many of these events as possible.
During this first session, you'll get to know your classmates in a fun and engaging way. We'll use a "show and tell" format, with each student taking just one minute to share something meaningful about themselves using an object (flag of your home country, a picture, an award, etc...). It's a great way for you to tell everyone something about yourself and for you to get to know your classmates on a more personal level. You'll enjoy this opportunity to start developing new friendships and your support network.
There are many opportunities for students to gain hands-on experience at Gies. During this session, you'll hear about four innovative options available to help students enhance their knowledge and skills in areas like consulting, startups, and emerging businesses. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how Gies can help you be more prepared for success in your career after earning your graduate degree.
Recruiting season begins this fall, and preparation begins now! It is important that you own your career development and work closely with your career coach to ensure you are maximizing your efforts and prepare your career "toolkit". Meet your coaches - Layla and Angie as they introduce you to your career resources, including the campus recruiting job board – Handshake and talk about what you can do to be prepared for a successful fall recruiting season.

We have set-up a 4-event series for you to learn more about case interviewing and how to be prepared for case interviews. Once you attend all 4 sessions, you will then have access to individual case interview 1:1 session with our case leaders.
*Individual case interview practice sessions will be available for students who attend all 4 of the above case interview sessions. Scheduling for the individual case practice will be communicated at a later date.

Every successful job begins with a successful interview! Learn more about how to prepare for and showcase your skills in a behavioral based interview. Learn about the STAR method, IMPACT stories and focusing on transferrable skills in order to ACE the interview. Working on this now will prepare you for interviews this fall and for our fun and interactive orientation activity. We have found that students who prepare early, are more successful in the interview process.
One of the most effective ways to learn about the MSTM Program is to hear directly from alumni on how they are using their MSTM degree in their industry! Join your career coaches, Layla and Angie, in a virtual discussion with 2019 MSTM alum Aishwarya Sanjeev Kumar as she shares with us her experiences as a Digital Analyst at MediaCom and her time at the Gies College of Business. Gies Business faculty – renowned around the world by the business community – guide students to challenge assumptions, to be inventive, and to develop their own path. Our faculty lead classes that are both interactive and highly engaging. To give you an idea of how classes, look, feel, and work, Professor Jeff Loewenstein will present an informative and fun negotiation exercise that he uses in his Negotiation elective course, which is available for you to take during your program. Professor Loewenstein has a PhD in cognitive psychology and was the 2019 recipient of the Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award from the Gies Business Alumni Association. Be sure to experience this dynamic classroom session.
