We are excited that you will join the MS in Technology Management program at Gies College of Business here at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. New Student Checklist

Please review and complete the New Graduate Student Checklist. These are essential steps to help you get started with your graduate school experience

Claim Your NetID

Your NetID will give you access to campus services, including e-mail and file storage. New students should visit the NetID claiming website.

Career Management Foundations Course

You will need to complete the Career Management Foundations Course prior to June 1. Please follow the instructions listed in the New Student Checklist.

Graduate Student Manual

Be sure to download the Graduate Student Manual and review it prior to orientation. It is important that you are aware of this content

Online Events to Help You Prepare for Your Arrival

To help you prepare for your arrival on campus to start the MSTM program, we are excited to launch a series of virtual events. This series will help orient you to campus life in an informative, fun, and engaging way. Each session will provide valuable insights and useful tips that will help in your orientation process, so we encourage you to participate in as many of these events as possible.

Get Ready For Gies: Session #1 Get to Know Your Classmates
Thursday, June 18, 9-10 am

During this first session, you'll get to know your classmates in a fun and engaging way. We'll use a "show and tell" format, with each student taking just one minute to share something meaningful about themselves using an object (flag of your home country, a picture, an award, etc...). It's a great way for you to tell everyone something about yourself and for you to get to know your classmates on a more personal level. You'll enjoy this opportunity to start developing new friendships and your support network.

Get Ready for Gies: Session #2 - How to Get Hands-On Experience and Elevate Your Career

Learn about the STAR method, IMPACT stories and focusing on transferrable skills in order to ACE the interview. Get Ready for Gies: Session #5 Insight Into Our High Engagement Classroom with Professor Jeffrey Loewenstein

Our faculty lead classes that are both interactive and highly engaging. To give you an idea of how classes, look, feel, and work, Professor Jeff Loewenstein will present an informative and fun negotiation exercise that he uses in his Negotiation elective course, which is available for you to take during your program. Professor Loewenstein has a PhD in cognitive psychology and was the 2019 recipient of the Excellence in Graduate Teaching Award from the Gies Business Alumni Association. Be sure to experience this dynamic classroom session.
