OVAEL Social Entrepreneurship

Social entrepreneurship programming under the Origin Ventures Academy for Entrepreneurial Leadership (OVAEL) provides progressive, collaborative leadership to support an inclusive entrepreneurship ecosystem that ignites transformational learning, economic development, and social impact.

Social Entrepreneurship Coursework

We support several courses that advance social enterprise including:

  • SOCW 321/BADM 395: Social Entrepreneurship
  • SOCW 375/BADM 395: Social Enterprise Lab
  • DTX 210: Introduction to Social Design
  • DTX 455: Design for Social Impact

Students enrolling in these courses have access to Social Innovation Mini-Grants to advance their venture ideas.

Global Entrepreneurship

Our global entrepreneur programs educate students on innovative business activities and practices through experiential learning across national borders. Students work directly with local entrepreneurs in other countries to encourage employment, accelerate innovation, and promote economic growth.

llinois Social Innovation is committed to improving opportunities for a diverse set of entrepreneurs, with a focused emphasis on supporting women, people of color people, and other under-represented innovators.

Our action learning programs aim to provide students opportunities to participate in real-world projects and join social innovation internships .

Social Innovation Design Lab

The social innovation design lab is a collaboration between Illinois Social Innovation and the Siebel Center for Design. The design lab draws upon design learning and thinking to develop the next generation of social impact leaders.
