A Message from Dean Jackson:

Let me start by expressing my gratitude to all of you, for your perseverance during these unprecedented times. Abiding by all of the testing and protocols, along with navigating through remote learning is a testament to your commitment to protecting each other and our college. I hope you all were able to read Dean Brown’s message that shares how your commitment gives us confidence for the fall semester. As of today, Gies is fully prepared and committed to returning to normal levels of face-to-face teaching in Fall 2021. Of course, these plans come with the obvious caveats: we’re a public institution so we’ll need to honor any regulations imposed by the State of Illinois. However, given our outstanding testing protocols and the rapid expansion of vaccinations, we’re very optimistic that we can provide normal levels of in-person instruction for the fall semester. In the meantime, please remain vigilant to keep yourselves and each other safe, especially as we see the great progress we’ve made in our state and local communities. I can’t wait to see everyone on campus!
