October 15 
  • Deadline for UG to drop semester course via Student Self-Service without grade of W.  Students may contact their college office to request an exception by petition to the drop deadline in the case of extraordinary circumstances.
  • Deadline for UG to remove incomplete grade from previous semester to prevent change to F grade
  • Deadline for UG to elect credit/no credit or change credit/no credit to regular grade basis in semester course
  • Deadline for UG to file intent to use Campus Grade Replacement option in semester course
  • Deadline for UG to withdraw from Fall semester (drop all courses) without grade of W
October 18 
  • Priority registration Time Tickets (earliest registration times) for Spring 2022 available on Student Self-Service
  • POT B courses begin (non-traditional courses may begin earlier or later)

  • Peer Tutoring:  Free tutoring in BADM 210, BADM 211, CS 105, ECON 102/103/302 and FIN 221. Sundays 5pm -8pm, Mondays 1pm -3pm; 5pm -7pm and Tuesdays 1pm -3pm.Tutors are available to help lead group discussions, walk through homework, prepare for office hours, and help with exam preparation.  More info
     
  • TODAY Campus Walk for Suicide Awareness | Sun., Oct. 10 | 7pm | Anniversary Plaza 
    Finding the Light in the Darkness is an organized movement to raise awareness for those affected by suicide and mental struggles. Coming out of a nationwide pandemic, those impacted are at an all-time high. The walk is aimed to send the message that suicide is preventable and no student, faulty, or staff member on this campus is alone. We invite all members of the University of Illinois community to join us in this experience. Together we can continue the conversation about mental health and find the light in the darkness.  More info

     
  • Fall 2021 Hallene Lecture - The Innovation Gardener: Planting for the Future | Wed., Oct. 13 | 4pm | Alice Campbell Alumni Center Auditorium

  • Sophomore Year of Purpose is a program where students spend a semester at a Gies Global Hub, either domestic or international. While completing their sophomore-year coursework away from campus, students explore the societal value of business through purpose-driven experiential learning opportunities.
    The Sophomore Year of Purpose program will be piloted in Chicago during the Spring 2022 semester. Info Sessions and more info

     
  • Gies first and second year students: Apply to the Gies Mississippi Spring Break Project: The Mississippi Project is a spring break trip that gives Gies freshmen and sophomores the opportunity to experience Mississippi and its history, collaborate with the local community, and explore how you can use business as a tool to do good. This is an extraordinary opportunity to understand Business on Purpose in action, and to further discover your own path to purpose.

  • LGBTQIA+ Ally Training | Wed., Oct. 13 | 2pm – 4pm
    Join the Ally Network Training Committee for an opportunity to sharpen your allying skills! This LGBTQIA+ Ally Training will focus on language and concepts to help you better understand the diversity of sexuality and gender, increase awareness of concerns impacting the Queer community, and begin your development of tools to better ally with the LGBTQIA+ community.
