Summer 2025 Course Deadline Policies
If you are planning to take coursework this summer, review the following information about Illinois and off-campus coursework....
Taking Illinois Summer Coursework
The section details of Course Explorer shows the part of term (POT) each course is scheduled. Knowing the POT is important for canceling, dropping, and withdrawing.
Illinois Cancel Policy Deadlines
Canceling a course means the course(s) session has not started, you did not attend and/or complete work for the course(s).

Illinois Drop Policy
If you are taking multiple Illinois courses, then you can drop one course your own through Self-Service. Dropping means the course has started, you attended and/or completed work for the course(s), and it is before the drop deadline listed on the Illinois Registrar Academic Calendar. If you are only enrolled in one course for the session and you would like to drop that single course, then refer to the "Illinois Cancel Policy" above.
