Apply for May 2023 Graduation Now!


January 30th is the deadline to apply for graduation through Self-Service!  Do not wait.  Graduation and ceremonies are not the same.  Students planning to graduate May 2023 are required to complete a degree application for degree processing and conferral. Follow the steps below to apply now... 
(Note:  If you have already applied for graduation, then you can disregard this email.)

APPLY

  1. Select the “graduation” option from the main menu of 
    Self-Service
  2. Click Apply to Graduate; Follow instructions to complete application
  3. Update diploma address in Self-Service

You must do this by the 10th day of class of your final semester.  If you do not, you must complete the Degree List Application Form for after the 10th day of instruction

CONFIRM

After you apply for graduation, you can confirm your name is on the May 2023 Graduation List by running a new DARS. This typically takes 24 hours after you apply for graduation.  Follow the instructions on Gies Groups to CONFIRM your name is on the graduation list, and view instructions to review your DARS to make sure you are on track for graduation.  Attend Express Advising to speak with an advisor about your degree completion.

CELEBRATE

May 2023 Ceremonies:  Applying for graduation means you will begin receiving ceremony information in the spring.  Upcoming ceremony information will be provided on the Campus Commencement  and Gies Convocation pages.
