It's Deadline Season - Spring 2024!
Make decisions using the significant dates, deadlines and requirements below. Deadlines are a bit earlier this semester, so pay close attention.....
Week of Februray 26th
Gies Progress Report: Assess your course performance and how it may impact your GPA. Keep a close eye on your inbox for the email "Gies Progress Report." This is required for Success Students who are not in the Peer Mentoring program.
March 1st - March 31st
Study Tables: Peer Mentoring students are required to attend one study table a month. During March we will be focusing on Effective Studying Skills to help prepare for exams. ALL Gies students are welcome to attend Study Tables in the Success Lab 1041 BIF. See the Mentor Schedule.
March 5th
Signing Day: Declare you major by participating in Signing Day. Participation is optional. Success Students in Peer Mentoring may use this event to meet a Community Engagement requirement.
March 8th
Drop a 16 Week Course: You can drop a 16 week course through Self-Service without a grade of W by March 8th. Please be sure to reach out to areas that may be impacted by your decisions - ISSS, Illinois Financial Aid, scholarships, Bursars, etc.
Add a Second 8-Week Course: View second eight-week courses (POT B) on Course Explorer. Second eight-week courses begin March 18th. Remember, these are 16 weeks worth of coursework in 8 weeks, so plan your time accordingly. Please be sure to reach out to areas that may be impacted by your decisions - ISSS, Illinois Financial Aid, scholarships, Bursars, etc.
Elect Credit/No Credit for Elective Courses: Complete an Illinois elective course for ungraded credit - cannot be used with General Education, Business Core, Major or Minor requirements. Review the policy and complete the Credit/No Credit Form on Undergraduate Advising Gies Groups.
Apply for Grade Replacement: Repeat Illinois courses in which a C- or below was earned and use the new Illinois grade to replace the Illinois grade earned in the first attempt. Review this policy and complete the Grade Replacement Form on Undergraduate Advising Gies Groups.

March 8th - April 5th
Required Advising for Peer Mentoring Success Planning Students: Meet with Leslie to Create plans for common first and second year Business Core Coursework. Holds will be placed on the accounts of students who do not attend by April 5th.
March 18th - April 5th
Required Advising for Success Planning Students: Starting March 18th, all Success Students are required to meet with an advisor at least one time before the upcoming semester course registration. A hold will be placed on your account if you do not meet this requirement by April 5th.
