Come to the Lab! Did you know we offer free snacks and sometimes food? AND WE HAVE FREE HOT COCOA to help you survive the cold. Stop by and visit us - whether you need a place to study or need a break between classes, we are here for you. We also have charging stations and school supplies you can lend including calculators.

New at the Lab! This semester we are hosting an emotional intelligence series: EQ Grab and Go. This is a great opportunity to learn more about how understanding your emotions and how you interact with others can impact your personal life and translate into your professional career. Also, we will be hosting Group Tutoring for FIN 221 on Sundays from 3pm - 6pm and providing dinner. See below for a full list of this month's events!

Wednesday, February 11: EQ Grab and GO: Book Giveaway with Valentine's Day Celebration

Stop by to grab a free copy of Emotional Intelligence 2.0 which we will be discussing during our EQ series. Also, come celebrate Valentine's Day a few days early and make a card. We will provide the stickers, cards, and supplies and LOTS and LOTS of candy!

Sunday, February 15: Silent Study Sunday 
Don't go through Sunday Scaries alone! Come study with us with intention and structured focus times and breaks to help you stay motivated. We will provide snacks and food (if you stay the first 45 minutes) and rewards including break activities and raffles with prizes!

Join us for our 1st and 2nd InFocus session with Jen House, our imbedded counselor. This 4-week program is designed to address concerns students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and ADHD-like symptoms commonly have.

Study Tables are hosted by Peer Mentors and Tutors Sundays - Wednesdays. Tutoring is available for early Business Core courses: CS 105, Econ 102, Econ 103, FIN 221, Math 234, STAT 100, STAT 107. Meet with the team one-on-one, as a group, or just sit and study! In Focus is a 4-week program designed to address concerns students with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and ADHD-like symptoms commonly have. This series is typically offered throughout the fall and spring semesters. This program is open to all Illinois students—you do not need to be a current client of the Counseling Center.

This series is interactive and gives students practical tips for improving focus. We’ll cover:

Week 1: Procrastination
Week 2: Time Management
Week 3: Goal Setting
Week 4: Stress Management and Self-Care
It works best if you attend all weeks, but you can attend any of the weeks as a stand-alone workshop.
