Experienced Academic Advisors help guide you through your academic journey at Gies and position you for a bright future. They are your advocates. They get to know you, answer your questions, and help you choose classes, declare a major, and stay on track for graduation.
The charge of Access and Multicultural Engagement (AME) is to create a community that fosters engagement, advocacy, and appreciation for differences that influence the success of all students. AME seeks to promote strategic programs, academically enriching courses, and culturally nurturing events that contribute to the enrichment of the College and the betterment of the broader campus community.

Our experienced staff provides services and customized support for all Gies College of Business students and offers a wide range of skill building and networking events throughout the academic year.
Email jhouse@illinois.edu to make an appointment. Jennifer House is the embedded counselor from the Counseling Center to the Gies College of Business. Her role is to work specifically with Gies students to provide confidential mental health services. In addition, she collaborates with Gies departments and RSOs to provide outreach and prevention services, such as workshops and presentations tailored to meet the needs of Gies students.
Gies Peer Advisors partner with the Undergraduate Academic Advising team to support and mentor their peers academically, personally, and professionally. Peer Advisors complete a semester-long training course to assist students with academic planning, course selection, policies, and procedures. We have 60+ person team with both in-person and Zoom availability on weekdays during the fall and spring semesters between 9 am and 5 pm, with extended hours on Monday evenings from 7 - 9 pm. Students who desire to join the program or want to ask a question through email should contact peerconnect@illinois.edu.
Tutors are available to help lead group discussions, walk through homework, prepare for office hours, and help with exams. Building connections and promoting healthy learning through early review, questioning, and practice. Peer tutoring is offered both in person and on Zoom. No appointment required.
The Business Records Team supports Gies undergraduate students and academic advisors with maintaining and updating student academic records.
There are many opportunities for Gies College of Business students to study abroad. Students have the option of studying abroad for a few weeks, a summer, or an entire semester. In addition to programs sponsored by the Gies College of Business, the University of Illinois has hundreds of study abroad options to choose from.
