IBC Leadership

Professional Staff

IBC's directors come from outside of academia. Their industry experience adds practical and relevant perspective to the student teams. In any given week, hundreds of consultants come in and out of IBC's doors to hold more than 50 meetings. IBC's professional staff provide support for the program and make it possible for the organization to run efficiently.

Senior Leadership Team

Illinois Business Consulting is student-led and student-driven. Students apply for leadership positions and are selected based on their prior IBC experience, work experience, project management skills, leadership capabilities, and interpersonal communication skills. The Senior Leadership Team is responsible for running the consulting operation, staffing the projects, and performing key marketing, operational, and training activities. Senior managers are responsible for ensuring the successful execution of client projects.

David Atkinson

Student Director

David is a senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics and statistics. He has been a member of IBC since Spring 2016 and has worked with startup nonprofits to Fortune 50 companies. He has had experience as a project manager for two semesters before becoming a senior manager for two semesters. He enjoys IBC because of the significant impact that students have on businesses while actively growing in their professionalism. He will be working full-time at PwC as a management consulting associate and is looking forward to leading the Senior Leadership Team this year.

Jacob Singleton

Internal Manager

Jacob is a senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences studying economics and informatics. He joined IBC in spring 2016 and has held every position in IBC, both on client-facing and strategic operations projects. On client-facing projects, Jacob has worked with companies ranging in size from Fortune 50 to startup nonprofit on market entry and growth projects. Internally, he has actively led the completion of more than two dozen initiatives through IBC's strategic operations teams. Outside of IBC, Jacob interned at State Farm for three years, has held various leadership positions within Illini Media, and will join Accenture after graduation as a business technology consulting analyst.

Hunter Honeg

Consulting Operation Manager

Hunter is a senior in the Gies College of Business pursuing bachelor's degrees in accounting and information systems. She joined IBC in Fall 2016 where she was a consultant, project manager, senior manager, and now COM. Hunter has prior experience working on market entry, feasibility study, logistics, and change management projects. She enjoys being a part of the organization because of its strong emphasis on personal and professional growth. In addition to IBC, Hunter is involved with Phi Chi Theta, in the Business Honors program, and loves to travel abroad. She worked for PwC as a management consulting intern in the summer of 2018 and will return there full-time after graduating.

Ananya Saxena

Senior Manager

Ananya is a junior majoring in Accountancy, Information Systems, and General Management. She is originally from New Delhi, India, but was born and raised in Dubai, UAE. Having been a part of IBC since her freshman year, she has completed three projects with diverse clients based on market entry and feasibility, as well as human capital change management. In addition to IBC, Ananya is a part of Illinois Business Council where she has held various leadership roles including the professional development chair and alumni coordinator. In the summer of 2018, she interned as a sales analytics intern for Lenovo and will be interning this upcoming summer at Deloitte in its risk and financial advisory practice. Ananya is interested in consulting and data analytics roles for future careers and is looking forward to another fruitful semester in IBC.

Bala Chandrasekaran

Senior Manager

Bala is a senior in the College of Engineering pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He started IBC in the Spring 2016 and has served as a consultant, senior consultant, project manager, and now senior manager. His past projects include market expansion strategy, governance in the water utility industry, marketing campaigns for technology companies, and product entry into new markets. In the past, Bala has been lucky enough to spend time with great teams at Velocity Venture Capital as a VC analyst, Facebook as a software engineering intern, and Uber as a software engineering intern. After graduation, he is interested in pursuing product management and venture full-time.

Erik Michel

Head of Learning & Development

Erik is a senior studying supply chain management, information systems, and organizational psychology. He was born in Puebla, Mexico, and moved to Schaumburg, Illinois when he was 14. He joined IBC spring 2017 as a consultant, he spent two semesters in the position, moved to project manager, and is now the head of learning and development. His projects include market entry research for Hispanic markets, data analysis transportation in the agriculture sector, and supply chain algorithm creation for a top management consulting firm. Outside of IBC, he is the president of the Supply Chain Management Association. Professionally, he has interned for Eby Brown as an OT intern, then interned for Deloitte and Crowe as a risk consultant the next year.

Fan Yang

Senior Manager

Fan is a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in the College of Engineering, pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering with a research focus on nano-materials. He has been a consultant, project manager, and senior manager three semesters. His past projects focused on consumer preference research, marketing strategies, and feasibility assessment. Fan enjoys his work at IBC because of the impact that IBC students have on clients, as well as the growth he sees in himself and his teammates through the mutual interaction and help. Currently, Fan is exploring his career options while continuing to build his real-world skills sets by leveraging the valuable experience and resources in IBC.

Jun Gao

Senior Manager

Jun is a junior in Gies College of Business pursuing a dual degree in accountancy and finance with a minor in the Hoeft Technology & Management Program. He joined IBC in Fall 2017 and has been a consultant, senior consultant, project manager, and senior manager. His past projects include feasibility studies, market research, and market entry and growth. In his free time, he loves playing basketball and traveling. In the summer of 2018, Jun interned at CME Group as a business & technology management intern. He is looking forward to joining the Senior Leadership Team and making an impact in IBC!

Kimberly Quiroga

Head of External Relations

Kim Quiroga is a senior in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences pursuing a bachelor's degree in economics and political science. Since joining IBC she has filed the roles of consultant and project manager on the Strategic Operations Team, and has spearheaded a variety of internal initiatives. In addition to IBC, Kim is the marketing manager for MakerGirl, a nonprofit that was developed to encourage girls to pursue an interest in STEM through 3-D printing. She will be working full-time at Accenture as a consulting analyst after graduation and is excited about having the chance to give back and make an impact in IBC this semester!

Sam Elmore

Senior Manager

Sam is a first-year MBA candidate with a concentration in finance. He graduated in 2014 from the University of Illinois with a degree in crop sciences. He worked for four years in the commodity industry before returning to Illinois for his MBA. Sam held the role of consultant and project manager before becoming a senior manager. His past projects include market entry strategy and the social and economic impact of nonprofit work. Sam is pursuing a career in financial services or consulting after completing his MBA.

Shreenath Patel

Senior Manager

Shreenath is a junior in Gies College of Business studying supply chain management and finance. She has been in IBC since Fall 2017 and has worked on projects ranging from pricing scheme adaptations to technological system upgrades for Fortune 500 companies and local businesses. Shreenath's passion for IBC stems from her ability to learn from diverse and knowledgeable students, regardless of their education level. Shreenath is pursuing a career in consulting, is vice president of major events for ICA, and will be joining PwC as a management consulting intern this summer. Her long term goals include receiving her JD/MBA and working in the beauty industry.

Shruti Goli

Senior Manager

Shruti is a senior in the College of Engineering pursuing a Bachelor or Science in Computer Science. She started IBC in Spring 2016, filling the roles as a consultant, strategic operations consultant, senior consultant, project manager, and now senior manager. Shruti has project experience in market entry analysis, feasibility studies, and nonprofits. In her free time, Shruti enjoys Bollywood dance and traveling (she just returned from study abroad in Switzerland). In the past, Shruti has interned at Dice, Dictionary.com, AbbVie, and PeerNova as a software engineering intern, and most recently at Microsoft as a program manager intern. After graduation, she will pursue a career in program/product management and is looking forward to being part of the Senior Leadership Team!

Sid Vashist

Senior Manager

Sid Vashist is a currently a senior in computer science and statistics and is originally from Princeton Junction, New Jersey. He joined IBC in the fall of 2016 and spent two semesters as a consultant and two semesters as a project manager before becoming a senior manager in Fall 2018. His projects in the past have focused on marketing, R&D innovation management, and algorithmic automation. In the past, Sid has worked as an intern at 3M, John Deere, AbbVie, and most recently, at Microsoft during the 2018 summer as a program manager intern. He is pursuing a career in product management and is looking forward to another productive semester on IBC!

Sylvia Wang

Senior Manager

Sylvia is a senior pursuing a dual degree in accountancy and finance with a minor in the Hoeft Technology & Management Program. She joined IBC in Spring 2017 and spent one semester as a consultant and two semesters as a project manager before becoming a senior manager in Fall 2018. Her past projects focused on data analytics, market entry opportunities, and software transformation. In addition to IBC, Sylvia is a fellow at the Margolis Market Information Lab and a Business 101 Section Leader. Sylvia was a risk assurance intern with PwC during the summer of 2018 and will be joining McKinsey & Company as a business analyst after graduation.

Yasmine Gordon

Head of Internal Operations

Yasmine Gordon is currently a senior in economics and informatics. She joined IBC in Fall 2016 filling the roles of consultant and project manager, and now serves as the head of internal affairs. Her areas of specialization are consumer profiles, KPI development and implementation, and start-up expansion. She spent the summer ofo 2017 interning at Nielsen, and at Bain in their BEL program. This past summer, Yasmine worked as a cyber risk advisory intern at Deloitte and will be returning there full-time this fall. She is passionate about music, performance, and travel, and studied abroad in Bilbao, Spain in Spring 2018. She is looking forward to a successful semester in IBC!
