MIL FAQs

  • What is your workshop availability?

Software workshops are offered during the fall and spring semesters. The workshop schedule is available by the second week of the semester, if not earlier. Registration links are available approximately 14 days prior to each workshop. Please note that registration closes 24 hours prior to the scheduled start time of the workshop.

  • What if I am late to a workshop?

If you do not arrive by the scheduled start time of the workshop, your spot will be forfeited to someone on the waiting list.

  • Do you maintain waiting lists?

If you are unable to sign up for a workshop because it is full, you may attempt to attend standby. Please arrive at the Market Information Lab at least 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the workshop. If there are no-shows, we may be able to accomodate you on a first-come first-serve basis.

  • What happens if I miss a workshop?

We reserve the right to prohibit students from registering for Market Information Lab workshops who register and subsequently fail to attend and/or do not cancel at least two times in a semester.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

You must cancel your workshop registration on Gies Groups. Cancellation must occur at least 8 hours before the workshop is scheduled to begin.

  • Do workshops ever get cancelled?

We reserve the right to cancel workshops with less than 5 attendees. Workshops may also be cancelled if instructors are unavailable or if the software products are not working.

  • What should I do if a workshop gets cancelled?

If a workshop is cancelled, please register for a different workshop session. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

  • What happens if I attend a workshop without registering?

If you fail to register for a workshop, we will not have a record of your attendance. For record keeping and in order to help us offer the best experience, we ask you to register using the Market Information Lab Gies Groups event page.
