  • Labor Day (all-campus holiday) – no classes

  • Deadline for UG to drop POT A (1st 8 week) course via Student Self-Service without grade of W.  Students may contact their college office to request an exception by petition to the drop deadline in the case of extraordinary circumstances.
  • Deadline for UG to elect credit/no credit or change credit/no credit to regular grade basis in POT A course
  • Deadline for UG to file intent to use Campus Grade Replacement option in POT A course

  • Gies Global Study Abroad Fair | Tues., Sept. 6 | 10 - 1pm | BIF Atrium
    Join us to learn about study abroad opportunities! We will have information about our semester-long programs as well as shorter programs led by Gies faculty. Coffee and donuts will be provided and we'll have lots of prizes to give away.
     
  • Seeking Gies AmbassadorsThe Office of Undergraduate Affairs is recruiting Gies Undergraduate Ambassadors for the Fall 2022 semester. The Gies Undergraduate Ambassador program is a volunteer and leadership opportunity for students to represent the Gies College of Business in both branding and recruitment efforts. All Gies students are eligible and need to sign up by September 9!  More info

  • Admissions Intern Applications! - Gies College of Business has internship openings on its Undergraduate Admissions student team for current sophomores or juniors to apply. Student interns assist with recruiting and connecting with prospective and admitted students and their families via in-person, phone, and online interactions.
    • Apply by Fri., Sept. 9 at 11:59 pm.
       
  • Apply to Become a Section Leader for Business 101! - The College of Business is looking for undergraduate students to be Section Leaders for Business 101 during the Fall of 2023. Section Leaders are responsible for leading students in a course that teaches professional responsibility and ethical values necessary to succeed at the University of Illinois and in the business world. This is a paid position that can dramatically change the lives of hundreds of students each year.
  • Academic Advising: 
    • Express Advising: Talk to a peer or professional Advisor with a brief question during Express Advising.  Peer advisors are available 9am - 5pm M, T, W, TH and 9am - 3pm on Fridays in the Undergraduate Success Lab (1041 BIF).  Wednesday afternoon Express Advising is virtual.  View the Express Advising and peer advising schedule on Undergraduate Advising Gies Groups.
       
    • Scheduled AppointmentEvery Gies student has access to Academic Advisors.  Unassigned (Undeclared) students can schedule with Unassigned, Finance, or Business Administration Advisors.  These are 30 minute in-person or Zoom appointments.  Any student that has already declared Accountancy must schedule an appointment with an Accountancy advisor. If advising appointments are full, you are welcome to continue to check back as we add new appointments every day. Also, you're welcome to come to Peer Advising, and/or Express Advising to get your questions answered.


Undergraduate Success Lab (1041BIF) Announcements:

  • Peer Advisors are available 9am - 5pm M, T, W, TH and 9am - 3pm on Fridays in the Undergraduate Success Lab (1041 BIF).
  • Peer Tutoring will resume on September 6 from 3-6pm in the Gies Undergraduate Success Lab for the following courses: FIN 221, Fin 300, CS 105, STAT 100, Math 220, Econ 102/103/302 and BADM 210/211.  The Fall 2022 schedule can be found here: giesgroups.illinois.edu/advising/peer-tutoring
     
  • Wednesday Success Lab Programming Begins: The Success Lab will host information sessions available to all Gies students. Topics range from Gies organizations and services, Campus wide services and major and career preparatory sessions. You can find specific events on up coming events in Gies Groups
    • Gies Ambassador and Admissions Intern Information Session | Wed. Sept. 7 | 4-5pm
      Join us to learn all about the Gies Ambassador program! Any undergraduate Gies Business student can serve as an ambassador and the sign up is open until September 9. Undergraduate sophomores and juniors are also eligible to apply as an intern for our Admissions Team. Applications are open until September 9.

  • Supply Chain Management Fall 2022 Application Period: Fall applications for the Supply Chain Management Program will be accepted Wed. Sept. 7 through the end of the day Fri., Sept. 30. After the application period has closed, formal interviews will be held.

  • Barron’s Investing in Education for Gies College of Business: Gies Business has a new partnership with the Barron’s Investing in Education program from Dow Jones. This financial program, gifted by Northwestern Mutual, includes FREE 24/7 access to Barron’s, a leading financial portal and magazine. You can gain access to this by registering for Barron’s.
     
  • Gies Business Research Lab is seeking undergraduate RA’s for 2022-2023
    Are you interested in learning more about the research process and study design? Do you want to gain hands on data collection and analysis experience? 
    There are several Gies Business Research Lab affiliated researchers seeking undergraduate research assistants (RA’s) for the 2022-2023 school year. Student RA’s can earn course credit for their work.

Gies Employer Showcase - Register Now
