A Message from Dean Jackson:

With summer break slowly appearing in the rearview mirror, we welcome you to a new year at Gies. For those students who are returning to campus, we welcome you back and we are excited for your return. For those students who are joining us for the first time, we welcome you to your new community! We’ve been preparing for your arrival and are anxious to help you get off to a great start! As each fall semester begins, I reflect on where we’re going as a college, and who we desire to become. The answers to these questions center on you, the students. You will determine where we go and who we can become because YOU are Gies. My expectation is that you all will look back at the end of the year and consider your year an academic success. My hope is that you will also take time to explore new things, seek friendships from classmates whose life experiences differ from your own, and contribute to a Gies culture of kindness, respect, and inclusion. Admittedly, these are high hopes, but I have great confidence in our shared commitment to make Gies a place where we all can find and pursue our purpose. Let’s make it happen, Gies…let’s get started!
