  • Chancellor's Senior Survey Event at Gies | Mon., Mar. 28 | 11am -  2pm | BIF Commons
    In an effort to improve the Illinois experience for future graduates, Access & Multicultural Engagement Team along with the Office of the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs invites all graduating seniors to join us in the BIF Commons to learn more about and complete the Chancellor’s Senior Survey (CSS), win prizes, and stay for treats, giveaways and a selfie at our graduating senior photobooth. 
     
  • Mental Health Skill-Building Workshop: Recognition, Insight and Openness (RIO) | Mar 30 & Apr 6 | 5 - 6pm | Undergraduate Success Lab BIF 1041 | Register
    Times are not easy. As our campus works toward having a more “normal” school year, there’s still been a lot of stress around health and safety as we all try to determine what life will now be like. To better manage difficult feelings, the Counseling Center offers RIO, an interactive experience that helps you: Learn mindfulness skills to identify why you’re feeling the emotions you are and accept them. Manage stress, anxiety, and other emotions productively. Identify what’s most important to you and prioritize accordingly.

Undergraduate Success Lab Announcements:

The Undergraduate Success Lab (1041 BIF) is offering free printing services every Friday this semester. Students can print up to 20 pages each session. 

  • Pre Law Information Session | Wed., March 30 | 4 - 5pm | Register
    Join the Pre-Law Advising Services Office (PLAS) for a special presentation for students in the Gies College of Business. Learn more about preparing for law school, the application process, and services available through PLAS. Students will also have an opportunity to ask individual questions during the Q&A portion! Whether you have decided to attend law school, or are simply exploring your possible interest in law - this program is for you!

  • Finance Academy Information Night  | April 5 | 5- 6pm | BIF 3003 | Register 
    Learn more about what the Finance Academy has to offer at the information night on April 5. The Finance Academy hosts weekly enrichment opportunities, such as debates on financial topics, student reviews of various markets, guest speakers, and networking events.  This event is open to all majors.
     
  • Backpack to Briefcase Conference for Graduating Students | April 8 | 1 - 5pm | Register 
    Your next chapter begins soon! Attend the Backpack to Briefcase Conference as you prepare for your transition to a professional workplace. Career Services, in collaboration with Business Council, is hosting this half-day conference features topics including financial wellness, women in the workplace, upskilling, your First 90 Day Strategy, and a recent alumni panel. Join us for this unique chance to begin working towards a successful career. 
     
  • Exclusive Summer Career Exploration & Optimization (CEO) Program for Gies Students  | Starts June 7, 2022 | apply by April 11
    The Gies Career Exploration & Optimization (CEO) Summer Program will prepare you to take control of your career!   Through the self-paced virtual CEO program, you will learn about your career interests, strengths and leadership potential and you will build your professional network.  Plus, you'll be invited to participate in exclusive events with our corporate partners!   Program launches on June 7th, 2022.  At the conclusion of the program, you'll earn your CEO certificate. Space is limited, apply online by April 11, 2022.
     
  • FIN 423: Financing Business Ventures 
    Get an insider perspective and a real-world orientation into the financial side of entrepreneurship.  Discover how to think like an entrepreneur, how to find investments for a business, and how to improve the financial performance of a business. 
    This class is open to all undergraduate and graduate students.  Class meets Tuesday & Thursday 3:30-4:50pm.
