At ILLINOIS, we want you to enjoy diverse cultural opportunities. That's why we give you the chance to study in cities across the globe. In fact, we offer over 400 study abroad programs. It's the educational experience of a lifetime. The Gies College of Business is home to 17 semester-long exchange programs with top business schools around the world. If you're unable to study abroad for a whole semester, that's okay—the Study Abroad Office also offers 12–15 short programs. Studying abroad through the Gies College of Business, with its drastically reduced tuition, can be cheaper than a semester at the University of Illinois.

Deadlines:

February 1- Deadline for summer, fall semester, and early action deadline for spring. If listing both Fall and Spring options on application - also February 1st.

June 15 - 2nd round deadline for spring.

September 1 - Final round deadline for spring.

Any remaining spots for Spring programs after the February 1st deadline will be open for the June 15th deadline. If available, they will also be open for the September 1st deadline. Note: Study abroad slots for each location are given out first in the Fall. Any remaining slots will be given in the Spring semester. If location is your top priority, we recommend applying for the Fall semester.

Note: UNSW in Sydney, Australia is closed for fall 2026 and spring 2027. Students interested in studying in Australia can look at UWA in Perth and ANU in Canberra.
