Training slide decks
Planning
- PM planning dashboard is a great way to organize your tasks, set a weekly routine, and send assignments to your team. Share it with your consultants so they can track progress and stay informed.
- Project timelines are used to keep your team assignments on track and ensure you have enough time to complete the deliverables you've promised your client by the end of the semester.
- Client call agendas help you plan, capture discussion, and create action items.
- Team meeting agendas help you plan and helps your team prepare, capture discussion, and create action items.
Generic templates
- IBC slide template should be used for all client-facing slide decks. The client logo can be added to the top right corner through the Master View setting. It is updated for Spring 2018.
- IBC white paper template should be used for all client-facing white papers. Make a copy to use this. See the "sample deliverables" section for more information.
- IBC document template includes preformatted text styles, allowing you to quickly capture thoughts in a consistent way. Make a copy to use this.
- Weekly status update template should be used to make the required weekly update slide. This allows the IBC directors and COM to get a sense of your project progress and the issues you are facing. Follow the notes section at the bottom to learn more about how to fill it in.
- Project checkpoint document outline will be used to fill our IBC Knowledge Database. Please complete a form for post-scoping, midpoint, and finals.
Scoping
Sample scoping materials are included on this webpage for your reference. Please remember to tailor your materials to your client and project!
- The scoping training (video) teaches how to plan for your project and create a binding agreement between IBC and your client.
- The scoping document template helps you solidify scope, project timeline, and expectations with your client.
- Client fact packs can be used as guide for preliminary research on your client and the client's industry.
- Issue trees help teams break down the overarching client problem into different questions and sub-questions.
Evaluations
- 360 Evaluations are used to help consultants and managers understand the specific strengths and areas of improvement for each consultant over time. They are twice per semester and will be accessible through EduSourced.
- The situation-behavior-impact method can be used as a great approach to offering constructive feedback.
Deliverables
- White papers are a specific deliverable a client might request, which includes the method you used throughout the course of the project, the data you found, and your final recommendation in the format of a professional report. (1, 2, 3)
- Excel models are a common deliverable for feasibility projects or technical recommendations.
- Slide decks are the primary deliverable for IBC projects. Storyboarding (1, 2) helps you organize your presentation.
