Investment Banking Academy
Rob Metzger is the Director of the Investment Banking Academy and the instructor for FIN 463 – Investment Banking. Rob joined the faculty at the University of Illinois after an eighteen-year career in the investment banking industry. From 1999 to 2015, Rob was with William Blair & Company, a leading global investment bank focused on emerging growth companies. In 2005, Rob was named a partner at William Blair, and in 2010 he was named Head of the Technology and Financial Services groups. During his career at Blair, Rob provided M&A and capital raising advisory services on a global basis to a broad array of growth companies in these sectors, executing over 150 transactions. Prior to joining William Blair, Rob worked at ABN AMRO, A.T. Kearney, Price Waterhouse, and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB).
Rob holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
