Stanley C. Golder Academies

Named in honor of private equity industry pioneer Stanley C. Golder, a graduate of the College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, the Golder Academies seek to prepare students for exciting careers in the fields of investment banking, investment management, venture capital, private equity, and a variety of opportunities in corporate finance.

The Stanley C. Golder Academies

Finance Academy is an enrichment program for outstanding undergraduate Finance majors, focused on developing future business leaders via enhanced academic and career opportunities. Members include Juniors and Senior s who have proven themselves to be top achievers in their classes and who are committed to learning and ongoing accomplishment.

The Investment Banking Academy is a collaborative effort put forth by the finance department in conjunction with alumni and Business Career services, with the purpose of preparing students for careers in the investment banking industry.

The Investment Management Academy provides high-potential sophomores, juniors and seniors with the tools necessary to pursue a longer-term career in investment management, hedge funds and other buy-side tracks

The Stanley C. Golder Scholars

The Golder Scholars program provides opportunity and recognition for our top students in the Academies. These students are nominated by the Finance faculty.

Requirements for consideration include:

  • A cumulative GPA of 3.8
  • Major in Finance
  • Membership in the Academies, business organizations, etc.
  • Service to the college and community
  • Recommendation from two Professors for admittance.

Once admitted, members will have opportunities to participate in focused professional development activities in their chosen fields of interest as well as be eligible for scholarships. The Golder Scholars program is chaired by Professor David Sinow, Academic Advisor to the Golder Academies.
