Admission

Admission into the Illinois Investment Management Academy is open to qualified freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. Recruitment is conducted in both the fall and spring semesters of each academic year. Applications for the Spring 2024 semester will be accepted beginning in March. If accepted, students will complete onboarding materials during the summer break of 2024 with full participation in the program beginning in Fall 2024.

The Spring 2024 recruitment process includes the IMA Bootcamp, coffee chats, and two rounds of invite-only interviews. If you are interested in learning more, please complete the IMA SP24 Interest Form (Here)

Application

Our Spring 2024 application opens on March 24 and is due on March 31.

Candidate Expectations

• Highly motivated individuals who demonstrate a drive for both investing and professional development
• Ability to manage conflicting priorities, deadline-based tasks, and simultaneous projects
• Possesses (or has aptitude for) technical financial knowledge and technology
• Minimum GPA of 3.6

February 27th, 5-6 pm (BIF 3007)  – The executive team and membership committee will highlight the recruitment process and provide necessary information for those interested in continuing the application process.

IMA Bootcamp:

Dress Code: Casual

The IMA Bootcamp will introduce students to the equity research, financial modeling, and effective presentation processes required for success in the Investment Management Academy. The Bootcamp should be used as a resource to prepare for the technical aspect of the application and subsequent interviews, if applicable. Please note that you are only required to attend one of the two bootcamps, as they will each cover the same material.

IMA Bootcamp Dates:

Session 1: March 3rd - 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Session 2: March 24th - 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm

Bootcamps are located in the Margolis Market Information Lab at 1029 BIF
