  • Academic Advisors

    Experienced Academic Advisors help guide you through your academic journey at Gies and position you for a bright future. They are your advocates. They get to know you, answer your questions, help you choose classes, declare a major and stay on track for graduation.

  • Access & Engagement (A&E)

    Access & Engagement works to create a community within Gies that fosters engagement, advocacy, and appreciation for differences that influence the success of all students. Access & Engagement hosts events and programs for all students.

  • Embedded Counseling

    Embedded Counseling primarily offers counseling services to students within the department or college they serve. In so doing, they are able to better understand the unique needs of students in the areas where they are based. The Gies Embedded counselor is Jennifer House and her office can be found in 1055 BIF.

  • Gies Global

    Gies Global offers short-term programs, semester programs at top universities around the world, and international summer internships to prepare students to compete in a global business environment. Meet with a member from the team through Express Advising, information sessions, and scheduling an appointment.

  • Gies Groups

    Gies Groups is an engagement platform for the Gies College of Business. Stay up-to-date with events happening in the College. Download the Gies Groups mobile app for either Android or iPhone. If you have any problems or questions, visit Gies Groups Help Desk or email giesgroups@business.illinois.edu.

  • Margolis Marketing Information Lab (MIL)

    Are you interested in developing your Excel skills? Do you want to practice coding, attend skill building workshops, or build your resume with certifications? The Margolis Marketing Information Lab is here to help Gies students build Financial Markets literacy, no matter your major or experience level- and it's all free!

  • Office of Career & Professional Development (OCPD)

    The Office of Career and Professional Development in 1034 BIF provides career advising, skill development workshops, résumé reviews, career fairs, virtual interview space, and much more.

  • Peer Advising

    Have questions about campus life, class scheduling, or planning for graduation? Peer Advisors are available in the Success Lab (BIF 1041) Monday-Thursday from 11am-3pm to answer any questions and provide support.

  • Peer Mentors

    Peer Mentors are current undergraduate Gies students who draw on their recent academic and community experiences to support fellow students. Through monthly study tables focused on academic skill development and community engagement, Peer Mentors help guide degree progression and foster a sense of belonging within the Gies community.

  • Peer Tutoring

    Peer Tutoring services are free and help with Business Core courework: FIN 221, Fin 300, CS 105, STAT 100, Math 234 (Spring only), Math 220, Econ 102/103/302, BADM 210/211 Office Hours Prep. ACCY 201/202 tutoring along with other higher level accounting courses is offered through the Accountancy Department. Visit the ACCY website for additional information.

  • Student Organizations

    Gies offers a variety of registered organizations to learn more about business. Information on these organizations can be found on the Council of Presidents webpage.

  • Success Lab (1041 BIF)

    The Success Lab is open Monday-Friday from 9am-5pm in 1041 BIF. All undergraduate students are welcome to take part in the programming offered in the space and utilize resources in the space, including the Lending Library, Free Print Friday, snacks, charging station, and more!

  • ARC Student Food Pantry

    ARC Student Food Pantry ensures that the Illinois community has access to nutritious food and key necessities in a welcoming and educational space. Located at 201 E. Peabody Dr., in the rear of the ARC Instructional Kitchen (entrance on the concourse level, next to the indoor climbing wall).

  • Chez Veteran Center

    The Chez Veterans Center's mission is to maximize the academic, social, health and career potential of veterans and military connected persons. They provide mentoring, academic services, career support, and more! Located at 908 W Nevada St.

  • Child Care Resource Service

    The Child Care Resource Service is fully accredited, full-time early childhood education for children of faculty, staff and students. Located at 905 South Goodwin Ave.

  • Connie Frank CARE Center

    The Connie Frank CARE Center (formerly the Student Assistance Center) serves as the first point of contact for students who call, email, or walk in to the Office of the Dean of Students. Assistant Deans help students understand university policies and procedures, connect them to campus resources, support students in crisis, and more! Located in 300 Turner Services Building.

  • Counseling Center

    The Counseling Center provides mental health counseling and wellbeing education for students. The center is staffed by a group of diverse professionals who understand the range of concerns facing students. Located at 610 East John Street.

  • Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES)

    The Division of Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) offers activities, services and resources for students with disabilities and guidance for faculty on accessible teaching. Located at 1207 S Oak Street.

  • i-Cards and the ID Center

    The ID Center distributes i-cards for students, faculty and staff. All students and new employees must visit the ID Center to get their i-card. The first i-card is free but replacements for broken, lost or stolen i-cards cost $20. Students, faculty, and staff can also use their i-card as a debit card at campus dining halls and fast-food restaurants with Illini Cash. Cash must be put on the students i-card ahead of time. Debit or Credit cards may also be used at these places. Located at 809 S Wright St, 1st Floor of Illini Union Bookstore.

  • Illinois Neurodiversity Initiative (INI)

    Illinois Neurodiversity Initiative is a program for students who identify with any neurodivergent condition. INI promotes the success of its students from orientation through graduation through programming and resources. Located at 904 W. Nevada St.

  • International Students & Scholars Services (ISSS)

    Illinois International Students and Scholars Services is a resources for international students whether they are checking in, have questions about their status, need to take a break from campus, or have other questions. Located at 910 S. Fifth St.

  • Michael L. Jeffries, Sr. Center for Access and Academic Success (TJC)

    The Jeffries Center provides outside the classroom learning experiences, to physical and emotional wellness, leadership opportunities, global awareness, safety, fun, and career preparation for all students. The Jeffries Center works diligently to advocate for diversity, inclusion, and the establishment of a safe and welcoming community for all. Located at 130 Turner Student Services Building.

  • Office for Student Conflict Resolution

    The Office for Student Conflict Resolution supports the community standards of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign by promoting ethical decision making, encouraging personal and social responsibility, and facilitating the effective resolution of conflict. Located at 300 Turner Student Services Building.

  • Open Illinois

    Open Illinois provides information, resources and guidance for undocumented, DACA and those impacted by immigration reform. Located at 614 E. Daniel St.

  • Student Legal Services

    Student Legal Services has a long and proud tradition of providing legal services and awareness of the law to the students of the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. Located at 324 Illini Union.

  • Virtual Job Board

    Looking for work? The University of Illinois Virtual Job Board helps students find part-time jobs on and off campus.

  • Illini Bookstore

    The Illini Union Bookstore is the official University of Illinois Campus Store for all products and merchandise, including required educational materials. You can check the required textbooks for your courses, buy your textbooks, and compare prices to find the best deal on your texts. Located at 809 S. Wright St.

  • Lending Library

    Student Success has select textbook and other resources available in the Success Lab for loan to students who need it. Additional information is availible on the Success Lab website.

  • Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA)

    Depending on your financial aid package, you may be eligible for a scholarship or federal student loan disbursement, which can be used to pay for your course materials. Check with the Office of Student Financial Aid to learn more about your options. Located at 620 E. John St.

  • Starter Pack Store

    The Starter Pack Store provides gifted essential, non-textbook materials needed for starting common first and second year Business Core Coursework. The “store” will open the week before instruction and run through the first 2 weeks. Students will only be given materials for courses they are enrolled in for the semester. All Gies students will have access through the Starter Pack Request Form.

Many cultural houses and resource centers are located on and around campus to provide a welcoming comfortable environment with programs, celebrations, events, and a place to study.

 
 
 
  • Asian American Cultural Center (AACC)

    The Asian American Cultural Center provides many programs that are related to Asian American interest and academics. It is open to university students, faculty, and staff. Located at 1210 W. Nevada St.

  • Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center (BNAACC)

    Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center provides a network of programs and support services promoting the individual, social, cultural and academic well-being of Illinois' African American students. Located at 1212 W. Nevada St.

  • Gender & Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC)

    The Gender & Sexuality Resource Center fosters an environment that is open, safe, and inclusive for people of all sexualities and identities. It exists for anyone who is interested in learning about LGBTQIA2S+ people, issues, and concerns. Located at 616 E. Green St. Suite 202.

  • La Casa Cultural Latina

    La Casa Cultural Latina has the mission to promote a welcoming and dynamic atmosphere through the development of educational, cultural, socio-political, and social programs that lead to greater recruitment, retention, advancement, and empowerment of Latina/o students. Located at 1203 W. Nevada St.

  • Native American House (NAH)

    The Native American House aims to create an empowering university context for Native students by promoting cultural, familial, and place-based relationships that are important to Native student success. The NAH welcomes faculty, staff, and students, while centering the voices and lived experiences of Indigenous Peoples. Located at 1206 W. Nevada St.

  • Salaam Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Cultural Center

    The Salaam Middle East & North Africa (MENA) Cultural Center seeks to provide a home for a border-fluid MENA community and inspire holistic student success, inclusion, and belonging. Located at 700 S. Gregory St. Suite E.

  • Women's Resources Center (WRC)

    The Women's Resource Center works to improve the campus climate for women-identified students, by developing and implementing programs that address social issues through an intersectional lens. They work collaboratively with individuals and groups to identify personal, social, economic and political issues that adversely affect women, and offers support through advocacy, education, financial awards, and social action. Located at 616 E. Green St., Suite 202.

  • Residence Halls

    On-campus residence halls offer a variety of arrangements, including living-learning communities, and options for undergraduate students. Many students say that their time living on campus and the friends they made there were among their most cherished college memories. On-campus residents have access to programming, tutoring, interactions with faculty, and connections to other students and campus resources.

  • Private Certified Housing (PCH)

    Private certified housing are privately owned and operated housing options that are certified by the University for first-year students and upperclassmen. In order to maintain certification with the University, these housing facilities must meet certain requirements including offering dining plans, residence life staff and community programming. Many sorority and fraternity houses are also certified, but housing is usually tied to membership, and thus not available to first-year students unless they become members of the chapter.

  • Special Living Options

    University housing offers a variety of unique options and programs for students in a variety of special situations. Special living options can be requested when filling out your Housing contract.

  • Business Learning Living Community (LLC)

    The Business Living Learning Community is a community for first-year students interested in pursuing business as a field of study, seeking to enhance their interest and/or understanding of business or want to develop a foundational understanding of how business interacts with other fields. Business LLC students gain access to special courses, guest speakers, and resources.

  • Housing & Utilities Resources

    The Office of the Dean of Students provides a list of services and resources available on-campus and in the community for basic housing needs. Basic needs refers to access to essential services that impact overall health and well-being. This resource list includes information on emergency housing, homelessness, rent assistance, and utility assistance.

Libraries

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign campus have libraries across campus. These libraries are free to enter and host an array of free services and resources.   • Agricultural, Consumer & Environmental Sciences (ACES) Funk Library

    The Funk Library supports research for ACES, as well as architecture and biology. This library is equipped with floors of private study spaces that have large window views. Located at 1408 W. Gregory Dr.

  • Grainger Engineering Library

    The Granger Engineering Library is the primary hot spot for all engineering and computer science needs! Granger is open to all students and is equipped with a computer testing facility, multiple easy-access monitors and plenty of study spaces. Located at 1301 W. Springfield Ave.

  • Main Library

    The Main Library is a very popular place of study for students of all majors. Students have access to the Main Stacks (UIUC's excessive book collection) and Victorian styled study areas. There is also a secret tunnel under the library that connects it to the Library Archives. Located at 1408 W. Gregory Dr.

  • Residence Hall Library

    The Residence Halls Libraries invite you to come and study, get research tips, join a book club, or pick up the latest movie or video game. Meant for relaxation and enjoyment. Located in the Illinois Street Residence halls and Ikenberry Commons.

  • Campus Recreation

    Campus Recreation offers everything from intramural sports to personal training, as well as an outdoor field complex and outdoor recreation courts for soccer, sand volleyball, basketball and jogging. The two main locations are the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC) located at 201 E. Peabody Dr. or Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE) located at 1102 W. Gregory Dr.

  • Fraternity & Sorority Affairs

    Illinois has 90 different sororities and fraternities you can join! If you are interested in joining a chapter, look at the recruitment website for information.

  • Illini Union

    The Illini Union is a great place to study, meet up with friends, play the piano, grab a cup of coffee, shop, check out events, and more! Check out their events calendar to see fun things to do on-campus.

  • Krannert Art Museum

    Krannert Art Museum is a free gallery for art, design and architecture. All are welcome to enjoy museum's rich collection of fine art from across the globe, vibrant exhibitions, and engaging programs. Located at 500 East Peabody Dr.

  • Krannert Center for the Performing Arts

    The Krannert Center for the Performing Arts showcases professional productions and concerts. Check out their events calendar to see what's coming soon! Located at 500 S. Goodwin Ave.

  • Student Organizations

    University of Illinois has almost 1,000 unique student organizations you can get involved in! Can't find an organization you're interested in joining, create your own by working with Student Organization Development & Administration (SODA)! For information on campus-wide student organizations, check out OneIllinois. For information about business organizations and events happening around the College, visit Gies Groups.

  • State Farm Center

    Go watch the Fighting Illini as they compete in NCAA Division I teams in mens and womens sports such as basketball, football, volleyball, swimming and many more! Tickets are available through Illinois Athletics website or through the State Farm Center. The State Farm Center is also responsible for hosting many activities such as concerts and festivals.

  • Campus Bike Center

    The Campus Bike Center distributes bike registration stickers; maintains the campus Bike Fix-it Stations; provides a central base for the bicycling community on campus; hosts various events and classes throughout the year; distributes bicycling information and resources; educates students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors about basic bicycle maintenance; and collaborates with campus and community partners in bicycle-related programs. Located at 51 E. Gregory Dr.

  • MTD Bus System

    All UIUC students have free access to the MTD bus system on the UIUC campus. In order to receive free bussing off-campus, UIUC students must show a visible and up to date i-Card to the bus driver, otherwise, of campus transportation fee is $1.

  • On-Campus Parking

    All students who want to park their vehicle on-campus, they must have a valid parking pass or use a parking meter. Check out the Parking Department website for additional information on parking passes and parking locations.

  • VeoRides Bikes

    VeoRides are electric bikes around campus that students are allowed to rent and use at their convenience.

  • Zip Cars

    Zip Cars are rental cars available for short-term rentals. Zip Car parking spots are available around campus and memberships are available for students, faculty, and staff.

  • Community Food Resources

    The Office of the Dean of students provides a comprehensive food resources list for campus and the community. Food is a daily necessity and something everyone has a right to. Food Assistance & Wellbeing Program Food Pantry.

  • Find Food IL Community Food Map

    Use the Find Food IL map to find places in your community offering free food or meals. You can also find stores and markets that accept SNAP/LINK or WIC coupons. For questions about the Find Food IL Map, it's uses, and partnership opportunities please contact eatmovesave@illinois.edu.
