Finance Academy

Application Process

The Academy experience is a two year program by invitation only. Students are interviewed as freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors and selected to enter Finance Academy at the beginning of the next semester. In addition to academic requirements and an ability for finance to enter Finance Academy, the other qualities that are needed are professionalism, a demonstrated or potential leadership ability, and community involvement-most are student leaders with substantial involvement in the College and University.

Applications are generally open in the middle of the fall or spring semesters, often the end of October or beginning of November, or February or beginning of March. During this period there are information sessions for students who are interested and have questions.

Applications are reviewed and students are invited to interview with Director Sterling Raskie and other professors from the Finance Department. Students are generally notified of acceptance within 2-3 weeks of the application deadline.

If you have questions about Finance Academy outside of the application period, feel free to email Sterling Raskie (raskie@illinois.edu) or Bethanie Couri (bethanie@illinois.edu).
