Review your DARS to dertermine summer course options

Identify the part of term the course is offered and know whether it's online or on-campus.

Calculate tutition and/or connect with financial aid or scholarships (if applicable)

Note the cancel, drop, and withdraw deadlines for your summer course session (see Deadlines and Policies below...)

Create an action plan for success. Visit Student Success Gies Groups for Academic Self-Help Guides and other supports.

Consider additional obligations: Work, trips, internships, conferences, personal goals, REST!

Summer Session CANCEL, DROP, and WITHDRAW Deadlines: View the Summer Academic Calendar

CANCEL: Sunday, May 17th is the 2026 deadline to cancel any summer session on your own through Self-Service using the Summer Cancel Registration option. CANCELING means the course(s) session has not started and you do not plan to attend/participate in any courses.

DROP: You can drop a course on your own through Self-Service. DROPPING a course means it is before the drop deadline for the summer session, and you are dropping one course out of multiple for that session.

WITHDRAW: You will need to notify Gies Records at Records@business.illinois.edu to withdraw. You will need to tell Gies Records the last day you attended and/or participated. WITHDRAWING means the course has started, you attended and/or participated, and you are withdrawing from all your courses for the summer session.
